I'm looking for a fun, laid back, and clean roommate for a very large converted 2BR in a doorman elevator building near 48th and 2nd avenue. I'm a lawyer in my late 20s and work long hours, so we may not see each other too often. The lease runs from end of September for one year.
The open bedroom
My roommate would get the master bedroom, which is very large. It can fit a queen size bed, night table, dresser, desk, bookshelf, large armchair and TV, and still have plenty of room to walk around. Each bedroom has individual air conditioner and heating units, so you can set the temperature to your liking.
In addition to a sizable closet in the master bedroom, my roommate would get a full gigantic walk-in closet and half of a linen closet, plus plenty of storage space in the kitchen and bathroom.
The living room
The wall is already up, the living room is well-equipped--couch, big screen HD TV (50 inches), surround sound system, PlayStation 3/blue ray player, etc. There's still plenty of room in the living room--it can fit a large bookshelf and a small couch in addition to all of my stuff.
The lighting
The apartment is on a high floor, has an eastern exposure, and gets great natural lighting. The temporary wall has windows at the top that let sunlight into the living room.
The neighborhood
The location is great, especially if you work in Midtown. There's a NY Sports and a grocery right across the street, other gyms and an Amish market all within 5 blocks, lots of restaurants and bars nearby, close to the E and the 4/5/6, 15 minute walk to central park. One of the best swimming pools in the city is two blocks away (major selling point for me).
