About the Room:
The bedroom available is on the upper floor with its own bathroom on the same level. (The other two bedrooms and bathrooms are on the lower floor.) Room dimensions are 12x10 ft. There is one closet (dimensions 5x2ft) in the room. The room also has a big double window with lots of natural light and great views (trump towers at Columbus Circle, a church, trees etc.)
The room will be available for move in on November 1st. The current lease expires Oct 31st and will be renewed for another 1 year and you would be expected to sign it along with the other 2 roommates. To do this, the landlord will require you to submit an application and clear a credit check (there is a one time fee of $300 for this). So the total required to move in is 1 month rent + 1 month security + $300. We need to get this done by Oct 15th.
The room is available furnished or unfurnished. The room is currently fully furnished with a queen size storage bed and Sealy Postropeadic mattress, a six shelf dresser, night stand, 4 shelf bookcase, laundry basket, a quiet floor fan, ironing board with iron, a small heater and and AC. If you wish to buy this the price will be only $1200 for everything!
There is also a 46" Sony XBR 6 HDTV that was bought in January 2009 which is available for an additional $1400 as well as an HP printer for $60.
About the Apartment:
A huge duplex with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms on the lower floor and 1 bedroom and bathroom on the upper floor. The apartment has a large living room and a full sized kitchen equipped with a dishwasher, cooking range and microwave. The kitchen and living room are also on the upper floor.
We also have a gorgeous private roof terrace with great views out to the Hudson!!! (picture attached)
The apartment is on 50th Street between 9th and 10th Avenues. The C and E trains are a block and a half away on 8th Ave, the 1 train is two and a half blocks away on Broadway and N,R,W are 3 blocks on 49th & 7th Ave.
The apartment building has 3 washers and 3 dryers in the basement which are only $1.25 each! Our apartment is on the 5th floor of a 5 floor walkup so it's very quiet and the building is always kept very clean. There is no doorman.
We have a maid who comes once every 2 weeks to clean. You will be required to pay $32 each time and in return you get your room and bathroom cleaned, as well as the common areas. In addition to the rent and the maid, you will also be required to split the Con Ed and Cable bills with the other two roommates, which is normally under $100 per person each month.
About the other Roommates:
One female in her mid 30s and one male in his late 20s. Both professional, easy going and love to socialize, but very respectful of the common space and mindful of each other. We lead busy lives so are not often around at the same time and sometimes like to have our boyfriend/girlfriend over when we are home.
About You:
Professional, non-smoker (or at least no smoking inside the apartment), easy going, social but doesn't bring the party home, and will agree that the common space / living room is not a place for their personal stuff and doesn't cook a lot. Good credit. Late 20s or early/mid 30s works best for us.
