ROOMIE NEEDED FOR MIDTOWN APT Midtown West 1475

(My Original Blog Post: http://ping.fm/e9dch)
If you wanted a huge apartment and patio in NYC and didn’t think you can afford it then now’s your chance. This is 1 BR in a penthouse for only $1475.

We have lived here for over 6 years which is why this place is affordable. Please read the entire posting as it explains everything. Write back with information about yourself if you are interested and I will make appointments.

About the Neighborhood

• Located on West 55th Street between 6th and 7th Avenue just 4 blocks from Central Park and has a grocery store, Duane Reade, Starbucks, dry cleaners, banks, and restaurants all within 1 block.

• At either end of the block is the NRQW and the F line, and we are 2 blocks from the BDE as well.

• The neighborhood is as safe as it gets, right in midtown so no crime and quiet at night which is great

• There are 4 gyms within 4 blocks: NYSC, Gold’s Gym, NY Athletic Club and NY Health and Racquetball Club

About the Apartment

The apartment is a big penthouse on the top floor of the building. It’s a unique spot and has the following features:

• The apartment has a large outdoor patio in the front, as well as a big private patio in the back (we can fit over 20 people on the private one alone). This is definitely one of the best features of the apartment and a huge plus when the weather is warm or you want to hang out outside in private.

• There is a guest room/storage room is off of the back patio that could be a bedroom itself as it's a full 8' by 15'. Right now there is a bike and some boxed in there but it can be converted to another room if you have an extra bed or you can use it for additional storage as well.

• There are 2 full bathrooms in the apartment, but you will share 1 of them as the other is off the master bedroom. The one you will share has a shower stall, sink and toilet and is a typical small NYC bathroom

• The building has a great live in super and has two locked doors at the entrance. We also have a video ringer for the front door so you can see who you are buzzing in everyone in the building is very cool, and mostly young, mid 20s to late 30s.

• Another great thing about the apartment is we have no neighbors, so making or hearing noise is never a problem. At night, you hear nothing; it's complete silence because it's in the middle of the block.

• There is laundry in the basement, $2.00 to wash, $1.75 to dry. Never have a problem getting a machine. If you want there is a cleaners around the corner can come and pick up your wash and dry cleaning and get it back to you within the day.

About the Room for Rent

• The room for rent is a good size NYC room. The old roommate had a queen bed, desk, and bookshelf in there comfortably.

• The room comes with the biggest closet in the apartment plus a linen closet.

• The bedroom shares a bathroom with one other room.

• Each room is heated by conventional NY steam heaters and your room also comes with a new AC unit.

• Your rent is $1475. The lease starts Sept 1st and we are looking for someone who will commit to a year. You will be expected to pay 1st and last month rent as well as security deposit which is equal to one month's rent. You will get security deposit back when you move out.

Utilities Costs

The apartment has cable and wireless internet, gas stove, and electric. We try to be eco friendly here so our electricity comes from wind power; we use CFL bulbs, power strips, and keep the electronics off when not using them to reduce our impact and costs. I would say all utilities probably come to $60-90 a person depending on the month. Your room is cable ready if you want to buy a box for it.

About the Roommates:

There are 2 of use that you will be living with.

• One is a straight female, 31, who is from Florida and works in fashion.

• One is a straight female, 28, who is from Florida and works in a hospital in NYC as a physicians assistant

• We both work and travel a lot, our weekday work schedule usually has us out of the apartment between 8-930a and coming home between 7-10p.
