I am moving out of my room in a 2 BR on 34th St between Park and Lexington. The apartment is in a nice, 24 hour doorman building, is right next to the subway and a crosstown bus stop, and has hardwood floors, granite counter-tops in the kitchen, etc. There is a laundry room in the building and a roof deck. The apartment is also very close to lots of restaurants and bars and it is a very young area, but it faces towards 35th St, so it is not as noisy at night. The bedroom has its own balcony attached to it and has a great view from the 19th floor north towards the Chrysler Building. My roommate is a young professional and leaves for work early in the morning. The apartment would be fine for a male or female (female lived in my room before me). The lease is up at the end of October, at which point you can choose to renew if you like (roommate will likely move out). All of the furniture in the living room is staying (belongs to roommate) and the kitchen is fully stocked with dishes, pots, and pans.
The rent is $1697 (+ utilities, which are about $40/month). You can set up a time with me to see the place and also meet my roommate, or I could send pictures if you are not in NY.
