1 BR in 2 BR - Great Location Upper East Side 900

(My Original Blog Post: http://ping.fm/PMpaC)
I’m moving to Germany for grad school in August, so I’m looking for someone to take over my room from 8/1/09 for the remainder of the lease (which ends 10/31/09). If you like the place and you and my roommate get along well, you can choose to extend the lease, too.

My roommate, Jade, is 24 and moved to the city last summer. She went to USC for her undergrad and Georgetown for her master’s, and she works at Jacobi Hospital in the Bronx doing HIV research. She is funny, friendly, intelligent, and respectful, so similar characteristics in a roommate would be ideal.

She’s looking for someone fun, sociable, responsible, and clean. Jade likes to go out on the weekends and have a good time, so she’d like a roommate who does the same but doesn’t go completely overboard. She’s clean and keeps the apartment in good shape, so someone responsible and cooperative with sharing chores would also be great. Females only please.

Cost
1br in 2br apt, $900 a month (includes heat and hot water).
Utilities run around $15 each for cable/internet and around $30 each for gas/electric a month.
First, last, and security required to move in - $2700 total.

The room
Currently fits a full-size bed, dresser, nightstand, and table.
Closet with large storage space above.
Big window.
Bed also for sale with room if you want it.

The apartment
Fully furnished.
Hardwood floors.
Laundry in the building.
Roof access (we’re not supposed to go up there but we do anyways)… and a bunch of people from the next building over throw parties and cookouts on the roof during the summer and are very friendly.

The location
96th St. between Lexington and Park.
On the same block as the 96th St. subway stop and the cross-town bus.
On the same block as three grocery stores, one block from CVS.
Five minute walk from Central Park and Museum Mile.
Public Library branch across the street.
Great restaurants on Lexington Ave.

If you’re interested, please email me and tell me a little bit about yourself, and if it seems like a good fit we can schedule a time for you to come see the place. Thanks!
