No doubt that those trying to rent an apartment with a criminal history do face discrimination of some sort. It can be excruciatingly unfair for someone to live a law-abiding life and yet be denied housing, which is a basic human need, due to the fact that he or she made a mistake, which they have probably already paid for, years ago.
