When you are looking into apartments, make sure you find one that has 24 hour on site maintenance services. This is advantageous for many reasons. One of the bigger benefits of 24 hour maintenance is that if you have an emergency in the middle of the night, you don't have to worry about scrambling to find an emergency plumber who you will have to pay extra for. That is what the maintenance person is for. They are on call to help tenants with emergencies, and they get paid by the apartment complex managers, or owner.
