Things just seem to work out this way sometimes. The accomodation arrangements I made have now been finalized for 2/9, rather than the originally intended date of 1/18. It happens. But now I need an understanding person or some understanding people that don't need to make a mint on renting out an empty room or apartment to come to my aid.
I can pay $300 cash for the period from 1/18-2/8 and am quite happy to barter to make up the difference. I am very skilled with DIY projects (painting, hanging things, fixing holes in walls, general repairs/maintenance), cooking, cleaning, writing (resumes, business plans, creative writing, marketing copy, etc.), editing, administrative/secretarial activities or just to help you utilize your NYC-sized space more effectively through organization. I also have a great deal of experience taking care of pets as well as a background that includes child care/babysitting. I am a woman with a strong sense of integrity, am hard-working, responsible and quick to laughter. While I wasn't planning on bartering for this timeframe, I have done work in exchange for accomodation throughout my travels (all over North America, US, Europe and Africa) and have thoroughly enjoyed meeting many wonderful people this way.
